Jay has worked with the domestic dog as well as studied canines in one capacity or another throughout his lifetime. Credited to his lifetime and passion for the rehabilitation of dogs, he is well versed in understanding their makeup and the issues that can and may lead to behavioral problems. Jay points out that humans and dogs have developed a close symbiotic relationship filled with shared learned behaviours and emotions.

He also believes that the first step to understanding the relationship between you the dog owner and your dog, begins with you. Though we see dogs as loyal companions, incorrectly altering their behaviour can turn them into unbalanced animals which become sources of stress in our lives and society.

Together, Jay and his family as well as their dogs Joey, Bello, and Haida all participate in the operation of The Total Dog rehabilitation programs.

The Total Dog - Behavioural Issues Relating to Canines and the Domestic Dog

Jay is always planning some kind of seminar or workshop; possible topics for the next seminar would be Pet Selection, and Choosing the Right Puppy or Rescue Dog.

Jay is presently working on a specialized degree in Sociology. He
applies his theories through working with the public and their dogs
creating different hypothesis within the phenomena. Things like
stress, abuse and many other social determinants of health all play a
significant role in the world of Man/Dog relations.
